Zay
A Rising Star in Music and Dance
In August 2024, Zay delivered an electrifying performance as the opening act for T-Pain at the Mississippi Valley Fair, further solidifying his place in the music industry. His high-energy set captivated the crowd, who were hyped and fully engaged from start to finish. Zay's dynamic stage presence was amplified by his talented backup dancers, who added a powerful visual element to his already energetic songs. The atmosphere was further intensified by his DJ, whose masterful scratching and live drum playing seamlessly complemented the music, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.
In 2023, Zay received an official Grammy Award Consideration from The Recording Academy for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards for his track "Selfish" in the Best Rap Performance category. Amongst opening for T-Pain, these are his most significant accolades to date.
Born in Glendale, California, but growing up in Davenport, Iowa, Zay has nurtured a deep and intimate connection with music from a young age. At just 14, he began producing six-track beats for fun and writing short stories and poems, unknowingly laying the groundwork for his future music career. With over 15 years of experience as a professional hip-hop dancer and choreographer, Zay has been featured on BET's 106th & Park Wild Out Wednesday and has shared the stage with artists like Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, and T-Pain.
Despite facing numerous challenges, including periods of living out of his car and hotels, music has always been a constant in Zay's life. He also earned his AA and BS in Electronic Engineering during this time. He produces and writes his own music, showcasing his unique style in his debut single "Selfish," a smooth pop track.
Zay recently released his pop album "What Lovers Do" and a house music EP titled "Keep The Change," both of which highlight his versatility and distinctive sound. Both albums are packed with infectious and uplifting tracks, ranging from mid-tempo R&B to heartfelt ballads.
